    Greetings,

I inherited this vase and the back story I've been told goes something like this:

The vase is supposedly 1 of 2 made. This was the first vase made but the artist, an older Japanese man, was not satisfied and made another. I don't know much else but I have heard that it may be worth something. My goal is to get in touch with some people who may have information or help direct me where I can learn more about this vase.

    Size: 7.25" x 6" (Height x Diameter)

It has small chips in the glaze but overall it's almost untouched.
Any and all information is appreciated.
    Thanks!

    -Benjamin

No Japanese man involved in making this piece/ The mark is that of Rockwood, a well-known American maker.

I think it’s Rookwood, but others here know more about it than I. Welcome to the Forum! :)

    You are absolutely right, INH!

Sorry about that. I did not think his dates were this early.

You guys have been so helpful, thank you!!
I did some research on the signature for Shirayamadami and found another piece done by him at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I've attached a link as well.
