    Hello

I found this wood Triptych Icon from a local estate sale.

Based on the hinge, I believe it is an antique piece, but not sure about the age. Please check the attached Screenshot 2024-10-20 204047.png Screenshot 2024-10-20 204028.png Screenshot 2024-10-20 203953.png photos and let me know your thoughts.

Flanked by archangels. Can't see anything well enough to know which. Probably Gabriel & Michael.

Older style at least. I'm not buying any real antiquity on it.

The angels are copied from Fra Angelico's angel musicians on the Tabernacle of the Linaioli, now in the National Museum of San Marco, Florence, Italy. These have been frequently reproduced in a variety of mediums.

Agree. Overall a fairly pleasing looking item but I also think the hinges are more just antique styling.

The Madonna was used often in the era for this type of piece. These examples are Florentine and less rustic than yours.

Not antique. Made to look antique and a poor job at that. Circa 1970s - 90s. Decorative art value only. JMO
