Need help to identify this embroidery

I got this embroidery from a estate sale.

Could anyone tell me the country of origin? Thanks!

 

Well, that looks nice. Where'd ya get it? And what were you told about it? What are the measurements? What does the back look like?

I got it in Illinois, the size is about 36" , I was told it might be from India or England. It look quite old, but condition is not very good

 

It is stapled on a wood board, so I can not see the back.

 

Stapled on a wood board? That doesn't sound like a good idea.

I've seen similar attributed to Ottoman/Turkish origins.
But do wait for other opinions...
(Google ottoman goldwork embroidery.)
I wonder if the background was originally red and faded to the current pinkish color.

EDIT: In your first photo, the tear along the bottom... is that red I see?

 

Agree, I found a similar item online, the background color is similar

 

Wow! Yes, probably red fabric... and Turkish wouldn't surprise me.

I suggest strongly to try to remove it (carefully) from the wood board. That would be very acidic... and not good at all for the textile.
