I believe the white gold is marked 18kt Italy -but there is another marking on the white I don't understand?

Could also use some help with the yellow gold markings. Think it says 750 - LAO96.

The LAO may be -LAO (London Assay Office)?

    Thank you. 14232431084417is.jpg

    Welcome Jeanette.
    Lovely brooch, and perfect pictures.
Looks like 690AL to me, probably a maker's mark. The yellow gold could be the same fineness as the white gold. I can't tell what the extra mark on the pin is.
The stamp of the London assay office is a leopard's head.

anyone know why the white is marked 18kt Italy and then the yellow 750 690AL?

It would not surprise me if the AL stands for the Italian assay region of Alessandria and the maker's number is 69.

It's AL at the end not LA. At least that's what I see.

Bakers, I seem to have lost the webpage of abbreviations of Italian regions. Do you have the url?

I've been searching there, because I knew they were there, but couldn't find them. Mind you, my searching skills are virtually non-existent these days, I can only concentrate for about 10 seconds.:wacky:

The pin hardware was probably made by a findings company in Italy, most jewelry manufactures don't make their own findings.
