Has anyone heard of polishing silver jewelry with Sprite (soda)? Apparently there are some online tutorials about this and my friend/neighbor asked me about it. Her jewelry is not antique, probably newer artisan made. I recommended a Sunshine cloth, but some of the pieces have intricate parts that would be hard to access with a cloth. I told her not to try the Sprite... just my gut first reaction, but added that I would run it by my "Antiquers" site and get back to her.

    Anyone ever tried this?

What is it with wanting to polish silver using something off the wall??????????

I don't understand, you can buy silver polish at hardware stores and grocery stores, it's not hard to get!

Not advocating for Sprite, but I think the idea was that this was an item you might have anyway. But wondering if it might actually be damaging to the piece.

The whole thing started because we have a case of leftover Sprite from a block party Sunday, my family doesn't really drink soda so I texted her and asked if she wanted it. I guess it got her thinking about the Sprite post she saw for cleaning silver, lol.

I told her I'd pass along any info. :)

Sounds like the best use of Sprite I've heard of (if it works)
