    Hi all I'm Mike, I'm from Ohio USA and have always been a time traveler which is what being a serious antiquer is to me ... grew up around "old stuff" everywhere from my parents and family and always loved it ... even stuff from the 1960s was old and interesting to me. Still is! As time has gone by I've found interest in much older antiques as well as stuff from my childhood & early youth, and live in a veritable museum of the past. Everything is old but the computer. And there is a _lot_ of it. I however don't have a formal education about antiques at all & have much to learn & hope to have fun here on this forum, which I'm glad I finally found.

    Welcome to the Forum, Circa71! :)
    No formal education in antiques is required here. People are always learning from each other. I bet you will be surprised at what you do know. :)

    Greetings. I don't think there is any formal training in antiques. There are apprenticeships, sort of, but only sort of. Some of us are professionals, but most are just enthusiastic.
