It's certainly possible. Old stringing made of cotton dies early and often.

    thanks mate

thats what i like about it, surprising what people can see in an item from 1 pic

and whether they would have bid on it as well

i think you can always tell, even from a thumbnail pic

I love to scroll through FB marketplace listings. I can literally turn my brain off and scroll with eyes half shut but still pick out the 1/1000 interesting things worth looking at from the thumbnails.

At 5 quid it’s hard to go too wrong. Looks like you did well! I’d have taken a gamble on it for sure.

I hear ya. Me too! I’ve got a nice tray around here somewhere. I’ll snap a pic. Actually I know exactly what pile it’s at the bottom of!

The piece you linked above is pretty but I’d put my money on pretty new.

Thanks! I like it a lot. Too bad it’s so damn worn but gives it a certain charm.

A story to tell in that one, a good clean would transform it into something else

    Copper base ?

Maybe a good ketchup bath ;););)

Maybe just to work on the main figure with the ketchup

Once you bring that out, everything else is insignificant

    all very good buys !!!!

the amber came in a lovely vintage case, and has a tested solid gold clasp

the two modern ones are solid silver as well

red beads aren't amber but glass as i thought

    the venetian beads are stunning

chinese tray is awesome but not silver me thinks

who needs charity shops anymore :singing:

my vintage Chanel Coco Mademoiselle is on its last legs

i know it sounds a bit woofy, but doesnt smell like a ladies perfume at all

the amount of people who walk past, stop and question always made me smile

£1 at a carboot sale, think its gonna be alot more to buy :)

What does ketchup specifically do that other “cleaning agents” don’t?
