dear all grandma's hanafuda, unfortunately no original box. probably played with them so much the box disintegrated! anyhoo, grandma's set of cards has different characters to the one i found on the net. is there any relationship of the different writing to period when they were made? am guessing the ones that read right to left are probably older? regards phaik hooi others:
I found a website, which you might have seen, which says the right-to-left writing indicates a pre-1948 time period. Check their images to see how they compare to yours. There is mention of a logo that looks like yours, as from the "Marufuku era." https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/comments/27giy5/old_nintendo_hanafuda_cards/
