This was deep in a box lot of miscellaneous silverplate flatware, very tarnished. Polished it up, and . . . Isn't this the cutest honey ladle? Around here we squeeze honey out of a plastic bottle cuz we have no class, LOL. This almost made me want to buy a honey jar.

In all my vast experience of wholly overspecialised utensils I have never heard of a honey ladle, but I suppose the bee is the clue.

I must admit I have never heard of honey in plastic squeeze bottles either so I suppose it balances out.

I don't suppose it is sterling? You'd have thought anyone in the market for a honey ladle would spring for the real stuff.

All it says on the back is Silver Plate. My guess is that it came with a honey jar as a giftware item and the jar has long since hit the floor. Never heard of a plastic honey jar?? It comes in the shape of a bear.

I see I have been lucky up to now. Not Pooh Bear, I hope?

Not Pooh, just a honey bear molded in plastic. The honey would have to cost a lot more if they had to pay Pooh Bear royalties.

    Hi,
I have a glass honey box from the EAPG era. That spoon would be perfect for it.

That is really adorable, ola! I'm surprised to see something with such a nice design with only "silver plate" on the back.

The fine crosshatching around the bee is worthy of a better metal. That's the only silver plate I have seen in a long while that would not end up in a box in the shed.

But who designs packaging to make kids eat more sugar? Yeah, I know. Everyone.

Pffft. I want the Paul Storr one.

Ah. So that why it only says silver plate. I would have thought it had been around a bit longer than that.

It looks uncommonly good for something younger than I am.
