North West coast watchmen ?

Want to know if this is an authentic NW made figure - I understand it's a souvenir trade piece, but I've noticed items made in Indonesia are copying First Nation totems & figures. Signed 'BC 2004' (British Columbia), but this is just a pencil mark. Looking for opinions from those familiar with the details of authentic items. (this is a current auction)

 

Drew, I don't think Indonesians would put 'Made in BC 2004' on their copies. Someone else could, of course. And Made in BC doesn't mean First Nation made.
@komokwa or @all_fakes can probably enlighten us.

 

It looks good to me, the wood is not one of the obvious Indonesian types. It is odd that it isn't signed; it is new enough that it should be.
We'll see what Komokwa thinks.....

I'd like to unscrew it from the base.....and look for a siggy.....
2004...would be signed !
The Indonesians like that brick brown paint & while it's a NWC figure...there are no NWC designs on it .
The ears are blobs, and those almond shaped eyes give me cause for pause !!!

I'd pass.....unless it goes for $15....& then it's just a nice carving of a man with a potlatch hat !!
