Featured Not what these are used for? Collar or buttonhole?

I found this little bag of pins and it seems to be made from brass and with a leather backing. The barb doesn't move. I have tried researching and it comes up with a lot of different, but wrong things. What and when do you think these were used for?

 

Hmmm maybe it fit into something? That end makes me think of things that snap together.

 

Is the piece on the back spring loaded?

 

sure it is...it's a button hole filler or one of a pair of cufflinks..

 

There are lots of different horseshoe shirt studs. I like yours.

 

Looks like a pin badge fitting but can't imagine why it would stick out at an angle like that. If you can figure that out, you will probably know what it is
Only thing I can think of is on the top of a hat.

 

Shirt Studs, often came with matching cufflinks for a French cuffed shirt.

 

It is just a solid bard. Doesn't bend or twist.

 

This is very close to the design shape.

 

This was a bag full of 12 of these, so the shirt studs makes sense.

 

not supposed to bend or twist......... the thinner end pushes thru the tube....and yours may be stuck......
