    I'm not sure how it was made either. But I keep thinking about this shape, on both OP's and one of Cranmer's. Of course, she is by no means the only one to use this shape. But she did use it quite often.

    So maybe she took one of her pots over to Preston Singletary's studio, tried his sandblasting equipment....it would make a good story.

    I have another pot that has a story to tell, I'll grab a photo sometime. It is rougher than Judy's work, and thickly glazed with variegated brown and blue pigments, and a NW Cost design that is not very well done. But it is signed, etched into the bottom, "A.C. Cranmer, Alert Bay, 1971."
    Just imagine, Judy's mother-in-law, Agnes "Big Granny" Cranmer visited her studio; Judy says, you should try making a pot. And Agnes, who was by no means known to make any pottery, gave it a try, and Judy fired it.

    Or, Andrea was one of Judy's nieces; she would have been around 10 in 1971....
    so maybe that is more likely. Still, there would be a story there.
