Orange peeler, tomato, potato de-eyer.? I can think of several uses, I'll check back because even Lorena Bobbit can do better

I'm scared to death of spiders as I was bitten by a Brown Recluse when I was a little kid at my parents cottage - spent many a day in the hospital. I do realize this ain't a Brown Recluse but just some kind of Orange Spider. Could you imagine if this was about a foot long? 12 gauge with 9 pellet buckshot for sure!!

I hereby nominate Ladybranch for the "Best-Link-Provided-Thus-Far-in-August-2016 Award."

Ladybranch, I'm prepared to send you your prize (a fairly-fresh orange peel from our lunch today). Just send a PM with your address so that I can fish it out of today's garbage bag before it heads out to the weekly trash container later this evening. ;) :D

Ladybranch, I was being serious about it being the best link (to my way of thinking for the information and examples it provided) for the month of August (and perhaps even longer). ;)

Komokwa, oh my goodness, it didn't occur to me that the second paragraph of my post (meant only as "fun" because DH and I had eaten oranges as part of our lunch) could/would be taken in such a way as to override the genuine compliment I was "attempting" to convey to Ladybranch. :(

Thank you! I wish I could say I purposely searched for that link, but in all reality it came up in the myriad of images from a Google search for "orange peeler." I usually won't have click on it, but wanted to see if it might be a catalog page for orange peeler from back when.

I have seen orange-peelers that looked similar, and may still have one....the tool makes a slit in the peel, and one then slides the tool along/inside the slits to loosen the peel without damaging the segments....

The advantage over just using a knife is that one ends up with segments that are free of knife-cuts.
