[QUOTE="CGB_Spender, post: 369298, member: 4318"]Hey everyone,

I picked up this painting at the second hand store for not much money. It appears to be a painting of a scene on the island of Capri. The artist has signed it "RIPPA". I have done some searching and have not found any information on this artist, however, I did find this eBay auction from 2015 where a similar piece of the same scene signed by the same artist sold for €199. Here is their description:

http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=221680031426&pm=1&ds=0&t=1421871462000&ver=0&cspheader=1

The only other piece of information I found is from an antique website where a piece signed by "RIPPA" is listed for €650. Here is the link:

https://www.proantic.com/en/display.php?mode=obj&id=80796

Now I am not getting my hopes up as I am not lucky enough to fine a valuable piece of art for not much money hahaha. Though has anybody heard of this artist? Is it unusual for an artist to paint the same scene twice with slight variations?

Any information is always greatly appreciated.
