Another item from my horse-trading session yesterday, although this one was not seen as having much value by my host so was pretty much free for the taking.

Asked me if any of my Chinese friends would like to wear it .. I knew no-one would but said "yes, for sure" anyway :shy: ..Not super old, I've had older ones before ..but old enough - a Ching era robe, likely from the Empress Dowager Cixi's time, late19th/early 20thc.

A little worse for wear here and there plus the front is a bit sun-faded ..no biggie though, I still think it's a nice thing.

    here's a few pix:

Beautiful! I would hang it on the wall, next to my kimono

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I'm late commenting on this, but just wanted to say it's beautiful! What have you done with it since October, @blooey ?

Traded it to my old biz partner, hangs on the wall in his apartment these days ...no room to display it in my place ...at least I get to see it when I go over to his place for coffee and a slice of pie :wacky:

My problem exactly though mine is not as nice as yours. Finally took it off to get more wall space and is now stored.

Thanks for sharing from me too. Love older Chinese embroidery. I have several old robes which I wear as evening dusters but I did have a sleeve rip and fall off once at an event!
