    Hi.
I found this today at my friend's thrift store and couldn't wait to check with the forum here - photos are taken in parking lot on back of my car, so I apologize if there's any issues.

At first when I saw this I thought it was another modern 3d sign made to look old, that they make for all kinds if sports or beers for a tavern, etc.
But - I noticed it's made of real wood, it's hand painted (see 4th photo where paint was over brushed) and it has a slot carved out of the bottom edge that looks like it locked into another piece that was part of a larger sign.

Also the bottom looks burned or charred - like it was pulled off from another part that had caught fire .

Is this a real old sign? Or was the charred part an added touch to make it look authentic?
Then why the groove along the bottom?

Finally , I did an image search & nothing came up that looks like it.

    Do I have a winner?!

    Thank you for any help/thoughts!

I showed a friend who told me the bottom was tongue in groove - also I believe it it/was a real bat that someone cut in half lengthwise to add to the sign.
    Any idea of age?

It looks like something someone made recently with old weathered wood and bat. The paint wear looks purposefully done to give it an aged look. There are a lot of similar designed signs with half bats attached out there. Different text, but same style. Top edge looks recently sawn.

It appears to be a fantasy piece. Old tyme-y, not old time.

Doesn’t appear to have that info available. But apparently you could put in a custom request.:wideyed:

The best price will be from a baseball fan in Jersey, probably up north. Yankees territory.
