Old looking brass candlestick identification

    100% agree, but how about if Purchase Item: (-$50) + (-$100) pay for professional cleaning + Sale Item for $150 = $0.00.... :)

    I like patinated brass, especially if it has green-ish tones to it.

    The severe-looking lacquered fake patina that they put on cheap new lighting fixtures and such I HATE so much.

    The only metal I like without a patina is silver, everything else (brass, bronze, cast iron...) look better with various degrees of patina.

    Silver tarnish is not a patina.

    This stick may be bronze, anyone think so? Art casting where a copper alloy is desired almost always involves bronze because bronze picks up very minute detail from the mould, whereas brass doesn't.

    If op decides to polish it with traditional brass polishes, by hand, he may find out because that type of polishing, in my limited experience, doesn't do much to bronze.

    Agree! Also Cast Iron rust is not patina too. :happy:
