Featured Old Photographs: Help ID Scooter and BMW Motorcycle

    I recently purchased a couple photograph collections that contained several pictures of old cars, motorcycles and tractors. I was hoping someone could help me out with identifying the scooter and the motorcycle in the pictures. I am guessing the BMW is an R26 or R27, but I don't know how to tell the difference. The scooter picture is from 1959 and the motorcycle is 1960. Thanks in advance!

    Are those last two the same BMW motorcycle? They look like there are differences to me. (But I don't know motorcycles)

    I think your right, I didn’t catch that. The front fender is different.

    The first one also seems to have more stuff under the gas tank I think.

    Think the one with the white tipped fender might be a R26 and yes the other one a R69S.

    As far as I know, the R69 and R69S had a horizontally opposed engine, and both photos above show a single-cylinder motorcycle.
    I'd be willing to think the fender in the second photo was just showing some glare, but I think there also is a different arrangement of mirrors on the handlebars - possibly the same bike but with added mirrors in the second photo.
    Whether R25 or R26, I can't tell from the photos.
