The on-line catalog is ready & my little doggie is lot number 369. :D:D:D

They contacted me last month because they did not realize it was English & had thought it was American. They offered to return it to me, but I decided to let them keep it for the auction. I figured with that many pottery enthusiasts gathered together they would most likely do just as well if not better as I would if I were to sell it on ebay. I know the pre-sale estimate has been lowered, but anything I get from this piece will be nothing but gravy. I was into profit from the sale of the 2 Roseville piggy banks. :smug::smug::smug:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Good looking listing!

Why did they want to return it when they found out it was English?

Why did they want to return it when they found out it was English?

The majority of what they sell & specialize in is American, so they felt that it may not get the right exposure. However, like I said earlier I think with that many pottery enthusiasts gathered together both in house, on-line & on the phone I stand as good a chance or better that someone, hopefully 2 or 3 someones :p, will find this little guy irresistible. ;) :D:D:D

It sort of made my heart skip a beat when the first response that came up when I reopened this thread was from Don :(

    Hi SIS,
It did mine also. Everytime his avatar appears my heart skips a beat. I sent him some stuff that needed ID'd. I do not have the heart to ask his family for their return. He really was a special guy.

I seriously considered starting a new thread yesterday because the same thing happened to me last week. It was a very old thread so when it came up it started on the first page & I didn't see the skip to first unread option at first. His response was about the 4th or 5th one down.

I decided to just respond to this one because anything I make is because of his suggestion. I had never heard of Crocker Farm before & most likely would have sold it myself on ebay. However with as spotty as my auction results have been this last year or so, God only knows what it would have sold for. :p

There have been several times when something was posted here & my first thought was I bet Don would have been able to ID this in a nanosecond. :(:(:(

This piece has found its new owner!!!!! :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

He ended up selling for $375.00.:smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin:
Their estimate was $100 to $200. So I am quite pleased. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Maybe Don was watching the bidding & gave it a little goose. ;):p:hilarious:

I will be forever grateful to him for suggesting that I submit it to their auction house.:kiss::kiss::kiss: I don't think I could have done much better & given the way my auction listings have been lately I likely would not have gotten this much.

This is a link to the Live Auctioneers page because the auction is still going on as I type this message. The prices the pieces sold for will be on Crocker Farm's page after Monday 7/18.

    Thanks to all!!! :kiss::kiss::kiss:

If you didn't get a chance to see some of the prices they got for some of the pieces, I am sure they are also smiling. The very first item sold for $55K & a pitcher dated 1840 sold for $125K.

Those Anna pig jugs crack me up. I can't believe someone actually poured, or maybe even drank directly, whiskey from a pig's butt. :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::eek::eek::eek: Several of them sold in the $4-5K range. :wacky::wacky::wacky:

Now I just have to wait for the check. :p:p
