Old US Pottery “ Molly Pitcher” Pitcher

Any idea if the maker? Factory painted or hobbyist?

 

Edwin Knowles, I think. There's a plate on worthpoint.

 

This listing mentions a Molly Pitcher plate by Knowles but only show Lafayette. The Lafayette has the same look and is also signed Hollister so maybe look at Knowles.

Thanks. Not a lot of those plates around and no sign of a pitcher at all. Were they hand painted or transfer printed?

 

Hm, searched a bit more and did not find a Knowles piece with unglazed base. And seems like their pieces are usually marked.
How about the horizontal seam? Don’t the mold seams run usually vertically?

 

Larger pieces like pitchers and floor vases may have a two piece construction with the pieces connected by a horizontal line.
