Old Wedgwood or anything special? Pottery vase with decorations in relief on surface

    Yes. I just took a second look with a magnifying glass to be sure, and there is an incised/impressed curvy line that descends from her hand. It is hard to see in the 2nd pic above, but here is a close up:

    Interesting image. I'd add "cat" and "boat" to the keywords, too!

    I think they are in a boat, the sides draped with cloth.

    I can't find a darn thing online, but there is a precedent for women (or geishas) in a Suzumibune - a cooling-off boat, a pleasure boat used to catch cool breezes in summer.

    yep -Suzumibune through google images brought up some stuff that looks very similar in genre..............how DID you know that????
