Older Lidded Glass Inkwell, Polished Faces & Edges

    ~1 1/2" square, ~1 1/4" high, plus ~3/8" hinged brass lid; bottom borders are ~1/4" wide, with the central square apparently as formed, ~1" square, ~1/8" deep. The vertical an horizontal edges are also polished, ~1/16" wide, an' amazingly without discernible chips or fleabites! I'm hoping the pattern of the cover will place it roughly in time. The grinding an' polishing appears to be machine work, rather than by hand. The glass is not UV reactive. What do y'all see here? Thanks for lookin'!
