Opaline glass bead necklace

Another vintage glass bead necklace from the bundle my mothers just given me.
I'm thinking it's quite early with the pin and barrel clasp but most of the dating jewellery sites don't mention this type.
Pressed? Opaline glass beads and about 20cm long including the missing bit.
It's been mended at some point as it's missing about 1 1/4 inches from the clasp end on one side. The silver coloured rings look out of place for an old necklace, surely if they were as old as the clasp and beads they would show wear or tarnish?.

Are the silver beads actually glass with a silver edge? That might explain their still being bright.

 

That's a good thought but no they are just plain jump rings. I wonder if someone added them later to sparkle them up a bit?

 

Could be. When I've used vintage and antique beads to make jewelry, I've usually mixed them with new beads, too.
