    Hello,

I've had this vase for ages but I don't know how old it is and whether it has any value.

I think it's from Hong Kong.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, a lovely piece of art...
    Is it metalware, or lacquer?

I'm no expert but I think it's lacquered ceramic.
Where can I find someone who understands what that hallmark represents?

Well, for openers, stay with this forum. Patience is a virtue here, too!
Many of our knowledgeable folks aren't in the US, or even in the northern hemisphere...Wait a few days so everyone can get a look at your vase.
There'll be sound, helpful opinions & comments, be sure.

Nice vase @Andy Blackevan . I have a chinese looking vase so i searched a quite long time on the gotheborg site. one thing that i learned from gotheborg is if the mark is stamped than the vase is more likey from 20th century... perhaps im totaly wrong....let's wait what others will say

And can we see the whole bottom

    Hi Rec,

    Thank you!

Here is a pic of the bottom.

I'm not really sure if the mark is the right way up or upside-down. :bored: IMG-20230313-WA0002.jpg

Nice vase, but I vote for newer with the stamped mark, the black overrun on the base and the gilded decoration around the neck is stamped or stenciled, not hand-painted. Last third of the 20th c. on up, I would guess.

@kentworld thank you for your comment. It's probably worth not much then. If you were to sell it, what would the starting point be?

Sorry, I haven't sold for years or kept up with the market much. But it is very decorative. Price would depend on size. The bigger it is, the more $$$ I would ask. And it depends on where you are, or if you want to sell online, etc. :)

I agree with the above in that it's quite modern. Looks like a type of printing or anodising on the ceramic. Otagiri use this technique a lot, but I dont think it is one of theirs.
