Hi the pictures you're seeing are of a dagger my friend has had in his family for over 50 years He does not know much about it but it might be but it might be Turkish possibly ottoman Empire as the item is in Cyprus Any info on the markings and the dagger would be much appreciated IMG-d0c45bca925648bd6c5075c6cbf2c14e-V.jpg Screenshot_20220521-090627_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20220521-090316_Gallery.jpg

Maybe if you don't try to get quite as close on the close-up and try to steady the camera better.....would love to see what's on it!!! BTW, WELCOME to ANTIQUERS, @Anthony137 !!!:happy::happy:

Magnified to 3X with different treatments....both are pretty close.....I think the first one is a bit sharper.....left side looks like a person sitting doing I have not a clue what, right side looks like a ship and no idea what else......

    Welcome, Indeed!

What a stunner of an opening salvo!

I have a special fascination for daggers, and the one you've shown, so very far away, really plucks my heartstrings. Thanks!

    You'll have a good time here, Anthony137...

I like to play a lot, especially with Photoshop, and not a new version, but find the old version I use does most of what the newer ones do...
plus I've bought, over time a few enhancement programs that help with enlarging/enhancing when Photoshop won't....sometimes DH has to DRAG me off the computer!!:hilarious::jawdrop::wacky::p:D:rolleyes: (And when I can't do something, I'll often go watch a video with "Colin Smith" who puts them on in PhotoshotCAFE....quite often for free!!) One might say I have an addiction!

Thank you all for the input but I'm still not clear as to what this dagger is I have looked up Georgian and kindjal but the daggers I have seen have no markings on the blades is there a specialist antique arms expert I can contact.
    Thanking you in advance,
    Anthony.

The shape of blade and hilt indicate it is a kindjal, to me.
I wouldn't think the markings change that opinion, but I can't make out what they show, or what they might indicate as far as age or origin.

Good evening, all. @Anthony137 you could look at the Mandarin Mansions website to see if you can see anything similar. You can also try try some of Auctions Imperial's old catalogs. Bonne chance!

I think the kindjal folks nailed it.
