Painting find - Kneeling Nude Indian Woman; Artist's Name? WHY Green Tint??

    I found this painting today at a thrift store (of course!) - I like the look but the green tint to the lady has me scratching my head! Does anyone have any idea why the artist would paint her like that? It makes me think she just got off a boat & is still a little sea sick!

    Speaking of the artist; can anyone tell what the artist's name is from their signature? It looks like D. Zepple? maybe?

    Any help & thoughts on this painting (not a factory right?) would be appreciated - do you like it?

    I'd think the artist was just trying to capture the light. To his eye, it might have had a greenish tinge as it passed through the trees. Frame Art was established in 1980 so that's likely your earliest date. I suggest you open up kraft paper backing and see what you can find.

    The signature on Journey's is different from the DEPPLE ones. His looks like D zpple. Chinese factory?
