Painting signature help

This is an oil on canvas, about 30 X 40 cm.

Signature looks like G. Schonborn.

I've found one example of this signature on a piece on the internet, attributed to August Gottlieb Schonborn.

Anyone have knowledge of his work?

 

Not August Gottlieb Schönborn the architect.
I think some unknown German painter. There’s a few out there, a couple have been listed with Gerhart but nothing further to explain how they determined that.

Does anyone have an idea what location might be represented in this painting?

Does the clothes the people are wearing tell you anything about the timeframe it is set in?
