Featured Painting signed "Fighting Bear"

I went to school at Antioch with Ray and have an abstract painting he did. The above bio is correct. He rarely had paintings at his home because he had a benefactor that bought most of them. I bought one that was more abstract.
He is very talented. So far he did not make the big time.

 

I'd guess he was at least aware of the work of Lawren Harris.

My mother bought this 36" 3D picture signed by "Fighting Bear" in Colorado Springs perhaps in the 90s. She went to an office with a lot of art but he didn't want to sell this.
She convinced him to sell it to her for $300.

It's been in storage most of the time and is in good condition. We want to sell it and the thread here helped us to figure a little of who the artist was.
Any other insights are welcome.
