Pastel Landscape Long Shot On Artist ID

Hi,
I have this pastel landscape, signed only with the letter D - any hopes of ever being able to id the artist? From the look at the back of this I believe it has some age - how much I don't know. This is 29" x 11".
Any ideas or information appreciated.

I don't know who "D" is and I suspect that it will be nigh-on impossible to figure out, but I would date this to early 20th century and in the style of Chandler pastels which abound here on the Island. I rather like the frame.

 

Thanks Wendy. This seems very well done (to me anyways), wish they had signed their full name. I'll try this on the ebay board, maybe someone there will recognize it.

American decorative picture c.1890-1910. These were sold in department stores and gift shops.

Seems like a nice example of its type.
