    Not A Clue, not american i don't think, interesting that it has a box lid. It could be 19th century, can't see any construction details. Guesses Empire revival style.
    Are you sure it's an ottoman & not a stool? What's the height?

    Here is an english box stool, mid 17th century. Height is 15 inches but feet are MIA, with feet probably 17-18 inches.

    Don't know about Irish, but I'd say ca. 1890-1910 on the date.
