Trying to find info on or at least date this heavy pedestal mirror. Pics of front and back. Thank you. IMG_20160312_190212407~01.jpg IMG_20160312_190236305~01.jpg

Those are faux (part of the casting) tassels, right? That was the first thing I saw and was like, wow! It's very impressive!

But the gems and pearls caught my eye next - they look newer - maybe mid-century Italian boudoir or dressing table piece?

It matches a picture frame I got at someplace like Home Goods a couple of years ago. Same gems and scrollwork.

Obviously I liked the style or I wouldn't have bought the picture frame!

I shall go about and hang earrings of some of my mirrors!

I have one of those iron dressing table mirrors in the shape of a heart -- would look perfect with some jewels!

The tassels pulled me in, I confess.

Wear them often or they'll collect dust!

It is 17.5" tall and 9" at the widest part. Oh, and I just noticed in the very top, there was something glued in there and it's missing.

@Bev aka thelmasstuff Hi Bev.....after re-reading this post I thought my comment looked awkward......I only meant that it couldn't be that rare if others had a few pieces!!! Sorry if it you took it any other way!!

I pick up and put down disks like this in thrifts all the time - I like hand carved anything - It has genuine beauty, but no wear and are used as components of lots of other objects, even jewelry.

It took me awhile to catch on - I suspect most of us don't shop retail, like costplus, where they have really fun new stuff like this.

I didn't mention it, but these elements don't look old.

It was this gold color and wondering if those were real tassels that had me hoping it was older and from Peggy Guggenheim's Palazzo (but you can't ignore that pearl!) :) :0

Well, there are tassels and then there are TASSELS. Look at the base of the mirror. Never saw that before.
