A friend visited who is a very experienced jeweller (contemporary jewellery and not vintage or antique). He tested the metal in his XRF machine and it came back as 7ct gold and not platinum. In fact, no platinum at all. And the original jeweller I used suggested they replace the bale, which they did with 18ct gold (if the poor pendant wasn&#039;t already confused!).</p><p><br /></p><p>The above is not intended as a complaint or rant, just sharing the life of the piece under my ownership.
