I have a few Pendleton blankets that I need help identifying their age. All are new (unused) and still in the plastic zipper bag or box. Can anyone help me with the labels? I saw the link on a different post to Barry Friedman link but the labels I have are not listed on his picture. Here are pictures of what I have with labels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much! Any idea about the 2 with white labels with a bear and a goat? I’ve seen a few with the animal on the label but they were square and red I believe.

I also have one that I am having hard time figuring out what the pattern is called. The tag attached says pattern number Z461. I’ve seen a couple online but they didn’t have a name for it either. Anyone have any idea? 62CA89F5-5CAA-46CE-877C-780870A31AF0.jpeg 4786D331-7C8F-436A-BD59-70DD0F6217BB.jpeg

"Since the early 1900s, Pendleton Woolen Mills has honored America's National Parks with a collection of distinctive park blankets. Each blanket has a Pendleton label signifying their authenticity and special woven label with the park name and image of an important natural feature." (from Pendleton's site)

This Etsy listing appears to be the same as your Friendship blanket.

Yes. Thank you. They do say on the label which Park they are for but the labels don’t look like the other Park labels that I’ve seen. I cant find the label that is on mine anywhere. I guess as long as it’s not a fake, I’m good.

Yes. Thank you. I did see that one on Etsy. That one didn’t say what the pattern was called either. Don’t all of the patterns/designs have a name? Or do some just go by a pattern number?

I think they called it "Muchacho", but I'm wondering if that's for real.

Does your glacier park blanket have several short black lines ("points") woven on one of the edges?

I believe they are calling it Muchacho because it’s small like a crib blanket. I think it was only like 33x42.

No points. It’s definitely not the Hudson Bay Point blanket. Although I do have one of those as well.

The Glacier Park was Pendleton's first Park blanket. Up until 1938, they made it with points, and dropped the points after 1938. I've seen three different label designs. I believe yours is the middle one, chronologically.

There were other mills that made blanket with points besides Hudson Bay. Pendleton did, as indicated above (don't know if they still make any with points). There was Early's Whitney Point Blanket (English), and Baron Woolen Mills of Utah who also made point blankets. I think Early's, and definitely Baron mills are no longer in business. Between the Hudson Bay, the Early's Whitney, and Baron Mills (I have all of them) point blankets, I thought Early's was by far the best quality blanket, but that's just my personal opinion. I don't have a Pendleton to compare, but yours look very nice.

Yvonne77, Pendleton blankets have been a part of my family for literally generations, so have a special meaning to me. Still, I'm not sure I can answer your questions specifically.

National Park blankets have been made continuously since 1923, some discontinued or offered briefly or reissued, but the Glacier Park and Yellowstone are still made today (although the Yellowstone today is made in a "Marigold" color.) So there have been thousands made, with different tags over the years.

That said, I have never seen these two tags. The ones I've seen always have the animals in a red circle. Which could mean it's a newer one than I've seen, or only made briefly, or not genuine.

You didn't mention if there was a UPC label on the packages. If not, it would mean it was probably produced before 1974.

Since the other blanket tag seems to be from the 1970s, I would presume, with no UPC codes, these are, as well.

Why don't you contact the Pendleton company at:
    https://www.pendleton-usa.com/contactus/

Or, better yet, Barry Friedman, the official blanket consultant to Pendleton, whose contact information can be found at:
    https://barryfriedmanblankets.com/

I've found him always helpful, and the expert!
