Peppler dining room set questions

Hello!

Looking for any information or opinions about our antique Peppler dining room set. My parents bought it back in the early 1980's and were told it was made pre-1930? They refinished it, brought it back to it's original look (yes, it had been painted!) and had the seats redone with black leather, the existing burgundy leather was cracked and faded. The side hutch is from the matching set.

Any clarification on the age of these pieces? The wood? I hate to sell it now but no one in the family has room for a set this size. Any ideas on values of older Peppler sets these days? Any info or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

 

it's a nice set...... but the market is soft for this type of item.
At least it's not dark brown...... and not to big...

but..... depending on where you're planning to sell it...... u may want to lose the Made in CANADA label.....

 

In addition to Komo’s correct assessment, this nicely refinished oak set is from the 1920s or so, and is also known as “Depression-era” furniture.
Don’t know where you are, but in my part of the US Midwest I’d expect to see maybe $200-$300 at auction.

 

We had another question on this site about Pebbler Bros - see link below. We are starting to see the younger folks at our estate sales buying things like this. They know that they are well made, vintage and are re-purposing. Not selling for big money but at least selling!
