Peranakan belt. Replica or original?

    Nice piece, but it is definitely not Peranakan.
    This silvertone over brass metal and the type of hook closure is typical of Ottoman belts. There are different styles of belts from the former Ottoman empire, my guess is yours is from Greece, which was once occupied by the Ottoman Turks.

    And it is original, although original could also be 1950s. Looks like the leather strap has been replaced, suggesting intensive use.
    Worn with a regional costume, as still worn by dance groups.
