I'm trying to discover if this Picasso owl is the real thing for a friend who is downsizing after recently being diagnosed with early dementia. She bought it around 1970 at the Picasso studio in Madoura. Thank you. I know it isn't the ideal background but I had to take these photos at her house. owl 1.jpg owl 2.jpg owl 3.jpg owl 6.jpg owl 5.jpg owl 6.jpg owl 7.jpg owl 5.jpg owl 7.jpg owl 8.jpg

It certainly looks genuine and with her buying it directly from them I cant see why it wouldnt be. They go for crazy amounts so I hope you can confirm it.

With the provenance, it seems like it us genuine. Contacting an auction house with expertise in Picasso ceramics would be a way to confirm authenticity.

I’d sure buy it as authentic in a nanosecond and agree that virtually every auction house will take it which doesn’t mean one has to give it.

Agree. With that provenance surely must be the real deal. Maybe proceeds can help a bit with your friend's care. As Johnny mentioned, these sell for huge money. What a shame your friend is going through that, and nice of you to help.

She (or someone) should contact a reputable auction house.
