Sorry, I'm still not clear on what the auction house confirmed or what you're looking for here.

I recommend asking the auction house for further guidance.

    He didn't say.
When he seemed to be more concerned with Alex's name joke, I decided not to ask again. I thought both you and I were clear though, it is up to him whether he wants to tell us and have further input from the forum.

I have noticed when you post things in forums and get a reaction of negativity it’s usually a good thing lol

& we've noticed that when folks don't like what they are being told about their item, in an open honest and free of charge forum.... there is usually pushback !

No push back there are plenty responses with saying reproduction. So far you have just tried to find faults without any opinion as of reproduction Litho painting silkscreen chromolithograph ink wash watercolor etc

OK...it's some kind of open edition print......likely a serigraph.

See that wasn’t hard rather than being negative and picking things apart
    Thanks for the reply

Since you have the thing in hand, what's your opinion on what you have?

Still wondering what the auction house confirmed.

Suspect I will never know. :joyful:

I’m not sure what it is it is definitely paint so I’m not sure if ink wash would brush that thick without any voids......so I’m guessing ink wash or silkscreen and the grey ink is over the black so the silkscreen would have to be done in two parts. The auction house said they were unable to confirm the authorship of the artwork after considerable research

I also believe that the number on the back is a gallery number and loaned by whoever M. Crider is and written to prevent mix up

Why dont you just take it to a local gallery who can give you a upclose examination? Just because it was in a gallery doesn't mean that it's real. Galleries have replicas/ reproductions of items just used for show. Slim chances that's it's real but let a local gallery take a closer look if you are not still satisfied with the comments.
