lloyd, I don't think you've started a thread about your chair, but have posted onto other threads. I don't think your chair is as old as you think, so maybe it is worth starting a new discussion with all your pics and I'll show what I'm seeing.

pre damage before the paint and post damage after the paint . before it was already in bad shape as a chair would have given slivers and the bottom rung was missing (clearly broken off as there is no saw or file marks , big chunks of wood taken out of it ,normal wear and tear for a chair . It was around 1912-1913 that Norman L. Henderson arrived in St. Lambert. He then lives at 47 Hickson Avenue (or 70 in 1920 and 124 in 1940). In 1914, he opened Henderson Furniture, a children's furniture manufacturing company, on Bute Street (355, later).
The company is sold in 1946 to LG Daignault. Norman Henderson then worked as a mechanical engineer at Canada Packers then at Stelco in 1950.

I never saw a full catalog from Vincent Price's Sears department stores art gallery. He curated fine art from around the world for American Joes.

Vincent Price Brought Rembrandt and Picasso to Sears!

Your Don Quixote print, serigraph or...? could easily have come from the Sears collection. They were signed by some of the greats of the 20th century, and sold for real money. Because they were real art :)

Can't say the same for the ad copy!

    Piet Mondrian
Sometimes square can be hip! As Mondrian. He digs those squares. Cool squares. Blue squares. Even hip squares! Far out, man!

    Composition: oil on canvas, signed.

5x5 feet, framed, modern, white, clear finish, glass protected $800

There's a nice Picasso, right there vvv

Lloyd, don't you find it strange that Picasso would have painted a Canadian made chair?
Picasso never lived in Canada, and I have never seen Canadian furniture this side of the pond (Europe).
