What do you think, when was this picture written? And where?
    Is this a professional painting? 6.jpg 7.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg

Your painting does look professionally done.
The best and only accurate way of answering your other questions is to identify the signature; I can't read that, signature hopefully someone who can will be along. :)

It ALMOST looks like a copy of Gordon Grant's painting of Old IronSides (?), with slight variations. I have an old and tired print here:

The pictures are similar, but still, I think, is this another picture?

This topic with the ship was just very common?

Definitely another painting - the topic was very popular. But I think your may (MAY) have been inspired by the Grant painting.

I claim no professional insight in the art category but I do not believe that is 70's sofa art. I find that to be a compelling picture and it would be worth $70.00 to me for the wall of my home if nothing else. I love how black the waves are and the threat of a building storm is ominous and well executed. The ship looks likely historically accurate to my untrained eye. Great painting IMHO!

It must have been popular. I think my Great-Grandmother painted a similar version of this painting. It's huge 4x3 feet. I'll have to look at it again when I go back to my Dad's house.

The Grant picture is a man 'o war,or a merchantman disguised as one; the OP has a clipper ship. Montague Dawson was I think, one of the most prolific producer of paintings of clipper ships. They were a very popular subject long after they left the scene

Maybe I can not buy this picture. The ad was blocked. Probably, it was filed by a crook))

Although, I will wait a little)).

Clipper ships are still very popular with factory decor producers.

Does anyone else, upon closer inspection, seem to think the masts do not appear to be correctly oriented to the deck of the ship? I think it is time to get my eyes away from this monitor....:cyclops:

WordofReason, it is probably best to start your own thread for your painting, just to avoid confusion.
