LOL, Hell No! Dealer is a wealthy woman:facepalm:  who winters in Italy and, wouldn't be caught DEAD! on this site.:dead:

Well, when i first looked at photos i was struck by the paint, it just doesn't look "right" at all!
And second, look at the piece at the MET, it was obvious to me that the faker used it as his "model". I did photographic "blow ups" of the molding on both pieces, they were identical.
What are the chances of two 17th century chamber tables having the same molding profiles? Unless produced in the same shop? I'll answer that! ZERO!!!
It just kinda went downhill from there, the more i researched the weirder it got.

James, you should be a connoisseur on Antiques Road Show. The Keno brothers will be a long time in recovering their reputations; in the meanwhile you could fill the void :).

Funny you should mention them, they are attempting a very small come back trail sales/auction ( about 30 pieces, nothing special) event in NYC this week during the Americana shows.
You're right though, i doubt you can make a come back from the disaster they were engaged with, particularly in an industry like Antiques, which already has a credibility problem.

Well, I'd say if I do get the piece, Kyra is almost OBLIGATED to give it the ye' old TASTE TEST just to make SURE it is in fact a genuine piece!!!:hilarious::eek::rolleyes:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Oh, I see. The time I saw for ending was just for bidding online? But it's still not up in the live auction. (Not sure whether I'm understanding this correctly.)

Okay, I logged in and am watching the live auction. Fun!

It's up in live auction now, those earlier bids were pre auction bids.
LOL, I was right the FIRST TIME!
I predict The RI School of Design will come to regret letting these furniture pieces go.
Academia is not into American at the moment, FOOLISH!
