In my journey to rescue and research stuff I found this little delight at a car boot sale.
I believe it’s an Epergne? Was one of a pair but the other one sadly bought it sometime in history and only the base remains.
The complete one is c6” tall and incredibly fragile. The base is pot metal and made up of three dragon fish thingies.
I’ve come up blank on anything quite like it so any ideas as to age, Chinese or Japanese or neither? Thanks for any help:)

No one can say I don’t concentrate in class :angelic:
They are now officially Dragon Fish Dolphin Thingies ( DFDT’s for short)

I’d think sometime from the 1850s on, it’s high Victorian. Went out of fashion in the early twentieth. Metal work would have been made in Birmingham I suspect, and gilded.
