To be fair, they titled it as "Navajo Style" and "Stamped Mexico", and never claimed it to be silver, only that it's not magnetic - their story about the Navajo teaching Mexicans the silversmith trade is just nonsense (the reverse, way back when)...

I've seen pink opal before once or twice and didn't think this was it. It doesn't have the fire or colors of precious opal, or the price tag. Never saw it in Mexican jewelry though. My vote is to give pendant and chain a divorce.

I agree, it looks different from the pink opal I usually see. I have a Mongolian pink opal Chinese snuff bottle, but it isn't bubble gum pink.
