    ~10 1/2" high, ~8 3/4" rim diameter; weighs 7 lb 6 oz.
UV reactive in an unusual way; it gets a bit darker. The pontil shows only as a ~2" circle with nothing ground or at all ragged. The rim had to have been molded, bit I cannot see any mold lines elsewhere on the vessel except at the bottom, where some form tooling must have been used. There is considerable wear on the base; a reasonably uniform 1/8" ring (pic x). There is no lid or cover. The jar id completely without decoration. I found it in my own woodshed today, buried deep an' heavily soiled. I have no idea how I came to have it. I'd like to know hat these are called...it's the largest I've seen, by far. Did it originally have a lid? Does the UV reaction tell y'all anything useful? I'm thinking my lady will grab it...she makes a mean KimChee...an' I have Sauerkraut seriously in mind, just a modest batch! Thanks for lookin'!
