It is chalkware, and they are currently in residence in an old cardboard box next to my dryer.

LOL, somehow, I don't think they did. Sorry about your chalkware situation but the Jayne & Grace thingy made the thread! dead funny!

My only question is ... who would take out a copyright on that? It would mean claiming ownership of the design!

Well I love chalk ware, and I have accumulated quite a collection to be sold at this point, so I'm planning on doing a chalk ware display window at my store when I get back from vacation. I'll let you know if I can get her and the mutts to take a long walk.

I think that was the only reason I ever opened my B&M store..............so I could create vignettes in the window...................my fav was a "recreation" of Hemingway's "writing" room (bedroom) in Cuba.............including the typewriter on TOP of the book shelves so he could stand while he wrote..............

maybe if I had payed more attention to the actual business of SELLING instead of DECORATING, I'd still have the shop.....................

I have seven windows - but I really only worry about the four on the first floor.
I mull them over, mull them over, right below the conscious level of my mind. Then one day when it's almost too late, I start grabbing, tossing, and dragging stuff into the window. They usually turn out pretty well.
