I bought it because I had no clue what it is. The tips are definitely sterling but that's all I know. I dont know what langauge or what it is used for. There is no hallmarks that I see. It looks like a small (kids) cane. I don't think they would use sterling for a kids cane. I really have no clue. Thank you for you help

Fascinating item, Joanne! I suspect we're looking at something from south or southeast Asian (or possibly an island nation in the Pacific.) @Any Jewelry may very well know something about this thing!

Can you polish where you see marks on the silver, and post close ups, please?

Looks like it might open here?

  6. I do not see any marks on the silver. And I tried to open it thinking there was a knife in there but it won't budge. Either its not meant to be opened or its stuck. I dont want to damage it.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

20" isn't long enough for a walking stick, IMHO!! Three phased elephant head on the end of the silver....I love the silver end!! Now to go back and look for silver marks? Nope, couldn't find any either!!

EDIT...could be some sort of "swagger stick" or maybe "counting stick"??? What animals beside a cow? Could help with meaning??

The very top design looks like the Trimukha Ganapati form of Ganesha.

A Yod would have a pointing hand on the business end, and the language on it isn't Hebrew by any stretch. @Any Jewelry may not be able to read it but will probably know what it is.
