    I thought this plate quite interesting but could not find the mark (see last photo), nor do I know what country it is from, or age. It ranges from 8 3/4 to 9" across. Also, can you see what the image is? It took me a long time to see it, but maybe you will see it right away.

    Looks like a shrimp.
    I think it is meant for seafood.

    @clutteredcloset49 That's what I thought for a couple years but something was strange about it, and then I saw what it really is. Look again! :watching:

    Should add that it's a pretty plate. I like it.
    @kyratango might like it even though it's not jewelry.

    It looks like the butterfly is chowing down on a flower.

    Jaena, I have your avatar on one my the shelves in my family room. Gorgeous, isn't it? Daisy and button is one of my favorite patterns. It reflects a lot of light.

    @clutteredcloset49 - Yes, I think butterfly with a somewhat strange body. I have no idea if it was meant to be used or was made as a decorative plate. Glad you saw the butterfly! :happy:

    @ola402 - Yep, you got it! What do you think the other veiny type designs are - like above the head of the moth?

    Oh, and yes, I love the daisy and button pattern too! I have one for sale and I cannot understand why it hasn't been snatched up yet.

    I think it's just the artist's idea of the stems and leaves that would be holding up the flower. I love this type of plate, when there's something going on with it that's a little different, not just a flat plate. Very nice.

    @ola402 - You are probably right - leaves. That makes the most sense! I kept thinking trees, then leaves, then trees. But you have settled me on leaves. Thanks! :happy:

    @Jaena
    I think it is a flower with leaves behind it.

    @clutteredcloset49 - Yes, I really think that's right! Thanks for your artwork on the photo! That will really help others see what we are talking about. And wow! You even have a terrific suggestion for the flower species - Gerbera Daisy. How did you find that? I am so impressed!

    The flower looked similar to a daisy, but the leaf was wrong. I'm still not convinced it's a gerbera daisy. The leaf on the plate still appears to be a lot broader.
    Maybe @Ownedbybear will know.
