That looks old tyme-y rather than genuinely old time.

Thanks Debora, sorry my English is not so good, do you mean that it's a recent work, like second half of the 20th century, made to appear older?

Your English is perfectly fine, Gianluca. I just used an expression you don't know. And yes, it does appear that your work is recent. I don't think it was meant to deceive. Just to be decorative. Let's see what others think.

I think the craft wood dates from the 1970s. It doesn't even look like an oil painting to me, but rather decoupaged picture. Perhaps the picture is painted and then glued on top?

Is that white stuff on the surface = scratched varnish? If so, it really looks like decoupage.

That type of plaque was popular in the 1970s. The back has been artificially aged.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I also think @antidiem pretty well hit the nail on the head!! You can see from the edge of the picture that it's been cut out, then glued on the wood, then multiple coats of one of the decoupage materials painted over to make it look sort of oldish......

I was thinking the same, it's like if they applied it over, after.
Do you mean that it's a glued imagine over the wood? I was thinking the same before, but no, it's a painted imagine, i tried to remove it to verify but nothing is attached on, it's just painted on wood. But you're right about the vsrnish, it seems that glued vsrnish for decoupage or for crackle style
