I've been on a bit of an online buying spree over the last two weeks, and I ended up making an offer on - and winning - these!

Came complete with the original box, and pouch inside :)

I checked what they sell for brand-new, and almost had a heart-attack. I think I got the steal of a century

The lettering doesn't look as finely detailed as that advertised at the Tiffany site. Maybe it's your photo though. This line (please return) is heavily counterfeited.

Heavily counterfeited. Including original packaging. These are from the company's web site for comparison.

It's the photographs. I really need to get a better camera. They're MUCH nicer in person.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I did a lot of comparing and checking before buying them. They're real.

I'm just always curious as to why someone would sell genuine TIFFANY items so far below their retail price.

    You'd be surprised, Deb.

I bought a Tiffany beaker from my local auction house a few months ago for $60.00. Solid silver, marked, stamped, genuine and everything. I sold it for $150.00.

Well, the lettering looks different to me. The "YORK" under TIFFANY & Co. is wider then the one at the Tiffany site, and the space between the letters in YORK much smaller on yours. Note that on the Tiffany site, the y at the end of Tiffany is directly aligned above the Y in York. I would lean toward counterfeit.

I don't see any differences. As far as I'm concerned, they're genuine.

For some strange reason, there are many, many of these TIFFANY cufflinks for resale on the internet. A Google Images search brings up rows.

The ones on 1stDibs you show look counterfeit too. Look how distorted the metal is around "PLEASE". I would expect every detail to be sharp and smooth. How do we know those are the real deal?

I can try and get better photos, but you guys seem to have made up your minds already. I don't see any flaws in them and the packaging is identical in every way to photos of actual Tiffany packaging I've seen. As far as I can see, they're genuine.

I believe the same place in Germany that makes the 'real' makes the fakes

You know... What we believe doesn't matter. Only what you believe does.

Well if you think they're fake, I'll toss them on the silver-scrap pile for melting, and take it as a learning experience. At least I didn't pay much for them.

That said, I do have another piece of Tiffany silver on the way. Not from the same seller, though. Again, I checked this one as thoroughly as I could, so I hope this one isn't a lemon too.

If they're fake, they're unlikely to be silver.

That's why they're going on the melt-pile. So that I'll know for sure when I take them there.

Shangas, I think the type style on the 925 on yours is different than the one from the Tiffany site. Can you see that too?
