I am told these 14k cufflinks are Neiman Marcus. The quality is good, and they are marked 14k. Not sure what the dark grey polished stone/metal is.

Is the stone magnetic? If so could be hematite? Not sure that it’s often paired with 14k though

It does look haemetite. Try seeing if it's magnetic.

    Natural hematite is not magnetic.

Hemalyke glass isn't. The stone is an iron oxide. I've never met a piece of the real deal that wasn't.

Hmm - oddly I'm told they're both man-made to some extent. One is glass and the other is reconstituted stone. Go figure. The natural stone isn't partiularly magnetic.

As an option I believe some pyrite looks like this. We know it as fools gold but I think some is silver/gray in color. Probably hematite though.

    Ditto.
It was here in the Netherlands, even with 18k. So was agate, which is in the same league, pricewise.

I have a pendant sterling and 18K gold that on ebay a seller claims is EFFY and hers has the tags. It has the same rope like trim yours has. I looked at the EFFY site under their cuff links and the very last pair has that similar gold trim. When I first saw yours that is what jumped out at me. Mine is identical to this except more square. Paid $5 for mine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234402117453

Holly blue is correct. natural hematite is only mildly magnetic and wont attract iron or other hematite. Lab made is magnetic.

It saw its shadow when it looked. That's another six-week drought of estate sales!

I see the what you mean. No, going the other direction from the 14 K mark. Closer to the stone. Look to the upper left. I can't read it, though.
