    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with any information about this porcelain bird container? I am unable to find any info myself. I was wondering if it is vintage or antique? Also if the mark on the bottom that looks like a 4 is a makers mark?

    Thank you in advance!

Most welcome. It’s very typical of little German bird pieces.

With that colouring, I was thinking art deco period, but I love that birdie!

Attractive little box. I’ve got a Goebel (or one of those other mid tier German porcelain makers) bird that looks similar.

Apologies. That's an Art Nouveau image. My bad. Ignore me.

When google imaging, I did notice that the bird looked similar to some Goebel birds that popped up in the image results.

It’s very like Goebel and also Hutschenreuther too. There’s a delicacy to the little German birds.

Do you know what the mark that looks like a 4 would signify?

It’s the decorators piece mark. Those would be added up so that they’d be paid.
